DUST - Living Room

“DUST” is an animated short film that follows Saul’s journey as he overcomes his depression and takes the first steps to start his life anew. The film opens with Saul during his darkest hour - on the verge of becoming addicted to heroin. However, a mysterious spirit shows him memories of his late mother before her suicide, guiding him to an understanding of where his state of mind will ultimately lead him. By understanding the suffering of his mother, he comes to terms with his own.

Saul’s environment is a reflection of his mental state and undergoes a development throughout the story that juxtaposes that of the protagonist. The light exhibits a duality that foreshadows the presence of a solution to Saul’s depression.
